Mikrotik wireless interface set in accordance with legislation
Mikrotik wireless interface set in accordance with legislation
Caution For the legal limit of 1 watt Erp at 5 GHz. or 100 milliwatts at 2.4GHz. not to exceed, it is not enough to select the Mikrotik router boarding your country to "country". But you should still fill the antenna gain. Then the RouterOS can make the right calculation, even if the router board has a fixed antenna as the SXT or Omnitik. There also must be taken into account DFS.
The correct settings
As an example, I set up a Mikrotik SXT G-5HPnD-HG r2
To make the appropriate settings in the main window, click "Wireless".
Double-click "WLAN1".
Click bottom right on "advanced mode".
With "country" select your country, here I select "belgium".
At "antenna gain" fill in the antenna gain. The SXT has an antenna gain of 17 dB so enter 17 in.
Attention: DFS (Dynamic Frequency select) is a system that detects radars. Upon detection of a radar on the same frequency to Automatic Mikrotik device goes to a free frequency switching in order to not disturb the radar. DFS at 5 GHz.frequency in Belgium required to not disturb include weather radar.
To set this click on the "DFS mode". Select "radar sense".
Click "OK" everything is now set in accordance with the legal requirements.
The Mikrotik Groove has no fixed antenna, give too the antenna gain in the antenna you want to use.
RouterOS can not handle decimal values. Example: A omnitik has an antenna gain 7.5 dB. This antenna gain must complete up to 8 dB fill in "gain" in eighth.
